John Warren is an experimental film/video artist, a lecturer of Art & Cinema at Vanderbilt University, and the Artistic Director of the psychedelic-themed Far Out Film Fest.
Warren’s cinematic work explores the lyrical and subjective frontiers of experimental, documentary, and narrative. He primarily uses a 16mm Bolex motion picture camera to make films and installations that seek to question, to interpret, and to express that which transcends language. His work has been exhibited internationally at a wide range of galleries and festivals. He earned an MFA from the California Institute of the Arts and a BFA from Emerson College in Boston. He lives in Nashville, TN with his wife and daughter.
